BoyleSports has contributed £10,000 ($13,000) to Bipolar UK, significantly surpassing the funds initially raised during the BoyleSports World Grand Prix darts tournament.
This generous donation was a result of BoyleSports’ commitment to donate £20 for every double 20 hit during the event, which took place at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester. The tournament recorded a total of 365 double 20s, including a pivotal shot by Mike De Decker, who clinched victory over Luke Humphries with a final score of 6-4. This initial tally raised £7,300.
Recognizing the impact of their commitment, BoyleSports decided to elevate the total contribution to £10,000 to provide additional support to Bipolar UK. The charity was selected by darts player James Wade, who serves as an ambassador for the organization.
Wade, who achieved 40 double 20 hits during his quarter-final match, expressed gratitude for the donation, noting its potential to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals affected by bipolar disorder. He reflected on the tournament experience, emphasizing the positive legacy of his performance through this contribution.
Sharon McHugh, Head of PR and Sponsorship for BoyleSports, highlighted the company’s pride in supporting Bipolar UK. She emphasized the importance of mental health awareness and the hope that their contribution will further the charity’s mission to provide valuable resources and support for those affected by mental health issues.
