Conor McGregor Negotiates Boxing Exhibition with Logan Paul in India
Conor McGregor has confirmed that he is in talks to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition match in India. The former UFC champion stated that he is in “preliminary agreements” with Mukesh Ambani’s family, a prominent Indian business group, to make the fight happen.
While McGregor expressed his commitment to the exhibition, he also addressed rumors about a potential matchup with UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria, stating that these claims were false. McGregor further clarified that his return to the UFC would follow the boxing exhibition with Paul.
Topuria also denied the speculation surrounding a fight with McGregor, rejecting the idea of a bout altogether.
McGregor’s announcement comes just weeks after a civil court jury in Ireland ruled that he must pay €250,000 ($257,000) to a woman who accused him of assault in a Dublin hotel in 2018. The woman, Nikita Hand, alleged that the incident left her with significant physical and emotional trauma. McGregor denied the accusations, claiming the encounter was consensual and that the allegations were fabricated.
At 36 years old, McGregor has not fought since sustaining a leg injury during his July 2021 bout with Dustin Poirier. He was also forced to pull out of a scheduled match against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 due to a broken toe.
Logan Paul, a popular YouTuber who transitioned into boxing, has previously faced Floyd Mayweather Jr. in an exhibition match and is now preparing for a potential showdown with McGregor. His brother, Jake Paul, made headlines after defeating former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in a recent exhibition bout. This event was notably the first live sports broadcast on Netflix, attracting over 60 million viewers.
As both fighters continue negotiations, fans are eagerly awaiting further updates on the potential exhibition in India.
